Jordinvest Sponsors 5th Islamic Financial Services Board Summit

Amman, May 2008 – In line with its ongoing efforts to develop the Islamic financial services sector, Jordan Investment Trust P.L.C. (Jordinvest), the leading provider of integrated investment and financial services locally and regionally, announced it sponsorship of the 5th Islamic Financial Services Board Summit (IFSB).
IFSB Summit, which will be held over the coming two days in Amman under the patronage of HRM Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, will focus on globalization and its implications for the Islamic financial services industry in the coming era.
The summit is organized by the Islamic Financial Services Board, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and hosted by the Central Bank of Jordan. It will be attended by 300 leading international Islamic organizations, represented by a large number of governors of Arab and foreign central banks, in addition to a number of renowned economic personalities.
Mr. Ahmad Tantash, Jordinvest's CEO and Chairman, expressed the importance of sponsoring this summit and said, “We were keen to be present at such an important international forum given the increasing outreach and high competitiveness we are seeing in the Islamic financing sector worldwide, in addition to the remarkable role it plays in the economic development process.”
Mr. Tantash expressed his interest in communicating with leading names in the Islamic financing industry and keeping abreast with the latest developments, principles and criteria in Islamic investments in order to continue providing innovative integrated services to meet the requirements of different clients in Jordan and the Region
Jordinvest had launched its Shariah Compliant MENA fund last March. The Fund is the first of its kind in the Kingdom and represents a significant addition to Jordinvest’s activities. Launching a Shariah compliant product comes in line with the company’s aspirations to expand its services in quality and scope to cover the whole Middle East and North Africa region.
