Jordinvest Lends Financial and Moral Support to the ‘Madrasati’ Initiative
Jordinvest Contributes to Creating an Educational Environment Conducive to Change

Amman, Jordan, June 2008 – Jordan Investment Trust P.L.C. (Jordinvest), one of the leading providers of comprehensive investment and financial services locally and regionally, signed an agreement with Jordan River Foundation to support the ‘Madrasati’ initiative, launched by HM Queen Rania Al Abdullah, with a mission to renovate and revamp public schools in Jordan and foster a learning environment and tools conducive to quality education in those schools, particularly that the initiative is essentially student-oriented.

This step reflects Jordinvest’s confidence in the significant outcomes that can result from the collaboration between the private and public sectors and in response to an urgent need to improve a number of public schools in Jordan. Jordinvest will be supporting the initiative by donating JD20,000 to Abu Alanda Primary School in Abu Alanda. The money will be allocated to the renovation of the school’s facilities and infrastructure as revealed by the needs assessment visit made to the school.

Jordinvest will also have a moral support role, which will be reflected by Jordinvest’s staff participation in different educational and school improvement activities in order to interact with the students. As a first step, a team of Jordinvest employees visited Abu Alanda School to assess its needs and draw up a corresponding action plan to meet them.

Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Ahmad Tantash, Jordinvest Chairman and CEO, expressed Jordinvest’s enthusiasm to proceed with the actual renovation of Abu Alanda School facilities and said, “We showed no reluctance in supporting this valuable and constructive program. We are firm in our belief in the role schools play in laying a solid scientific and social foundation for future generations. This exemplifies Jordinvest’s mission towards our community. Our sense of responsibility towards the people and institutions of Jordan compels us to be an active player in the educational development process by supporting and cooperating with different relevant sectors.”

For her part, Ms. Valentina Qussisiya, JRF Director General, said, “We are throwing all our weight behind this program because we are determined to create the best educational environment for our children in Jordan by enabling schools to fulfill their role in creating a healthy society in affirmation of HM Queen Rania Al Abdullah’s vision. We value Jordinvest’s contribution and hope it will set the example for other local establishments that are conscious of their role in promoting constructive national initiatives.”
